Debbie & Doug Byers
I (Debbie speaking here) purchased, furnished, landscaped and opened the Belle 4 years ago on my own and have loved all of the fabulous guests I’ve shared this Victorian treasure with since opening during a fall Antiques Weekend in 2005. Convinced that my life was lacking a very important component, I stepped out on the recommendation of many of my guests who had met online and met Doug Byers. We met on E-harmony and our lives have been enriched exponentially by finding each other! Wow!! I introduced him to the small town crowd of Round Top and they fell in love with him too! We were married at the Belle of Round Top on March 22nd, 2008. Doug is a previous member of the 60’s Rock group “Sam the Sham & the Pharoahs” (Remember Woolly Bully and Little Red Riding Hood). He still musically accompanies new, upcoming artists at his recording studio where he helps them create demo CD’s to promote themselves, however his “real” job for 30 years is luxury custom home builder in Phoenix, Arizona. The wedding was an over the top “True Texas Wedding” and all of our friends in Round Top were invited to celebrate with us. Our local Cowboy caterer, Steed with “Beans & Bacon” outdid himself and Doug invited his personal friends the band “Ricochet” to play from our veranda and we danced under a full moon in the Texas wildflowers. Our guests from all over the country are still talking about the wedding being the best they’ve ever attended. We’d love to have you share in our happiness! Life is short and we must savor every moment we’re given, for were not promised tomorrow! Come for a stay at the Belle and you’ll cherish the memory fovever!!
